Membership Fee & Course Registrations

Membership costs $25 per calendar year.
Registration is $95 per term.

There are two separate registration processes:

1. First Round of Registration: You may register for up to seven courses. Every effort will be made to register each student in their first five selections.

2. Second Round of Registration. You may register for any and all of the available courses (subject to space limitations).

How to Register

There are three methods of registration when the registration date is announced:

1) Online at www.osher.calpoly.edu
2) Mail Registration
3) In person at the Cal Poly Continuing Education office.

• Once the class is max is reached, registrations are entered with a waitlist status (in order of time of registration) is automatically generated by the software, Peopleware Pro.
• If a person does not get a minimum of three OLLI courses, a courtesy phone call is made to the individual to ask if there are other classes they would consider taking.
• After the person is registered, payment is collected for membership fee and any fieldtrips.
• In approximately 10 working days, a confirmation letter that shows the classes, fees collected and a name badge.

Additional Fees

Any additional fees (materials, admissions, transportation, etc.) will be indicated in the course description. Some courses may ask you to obtain your own copy of a book.

Q: Can I get a refund if I decide to withdraw from my course?

A: Due to the low cost at which these courses are provided and the additional cost it would take to process refunds, no refund is given for those who wish to withdraw from classes or from courses that charge a fee.

Membership Benefits

• A 10-percent discount on tickets to certain events (Sept. through May) sponsored by Cal Poly Arts. This is the same discount that Cal Poly undergraduates receive.

• A 10-percent discount on selected non-credit Cal Poly Continuing Education courses and programs other than the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Scholarships

You may purchase a life membership for $1,500. Half of this amount goes into the scholarship fund (tax-deductible), and half goes into the endowment for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Cal Poly Alumni Association members receive a 10% discount on registration fees.

Eligible participants are able to register in person, by phone, or on-line via the web.

A limited number of scholarships are available for each term. To apply, please send a letter or e-mail briefly describing your circumstances to our office.

Campus Course Locations & Parking

You will not have to pay for parking when you are on the Cal Poly campus to attend a course. OLLI students can pick up a parking pass for approved spaces at the on-campus Visitor Center (the kiosk at the Grand Avenue entrance). Unless otherwise indicated, permit regulations are enforced Mon-Thurs., 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. (till 5:00 p.m. Fridays and summer quarter). Permits are not required on Saturday or Sunday. All other regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bookstore Information

El Corral Bookstore is on the lower level of the University Union at Cal Poly. Stop at the parking kiosk on Grand Avenue for directions to the store.
